Mazda rolls out China-built CX-6e SUV and 6e sedan for European and Australian markets

Mazda introduced the CX‑6e electric crossover at its Experience Days in Brussels, positioning it as a Europe‑focused model built at the Changan‑Mazda joint‑venture plant in Nanjing, China. The 4.85‑metre vehicle uses a 78 kWh LFP battery, delivers up to 190 kW (258 hp) and 290 Nm of torque, and offers a WLTP‑rated range of up to 484 km. Pricing in Belgium starts at €46,290 for the Takumi trim, with a higher‑spec Takumi Plus at €49,290. Mazda emphasised that while the chassis and battery architecture come from its Chinese partner, European engineering teams handled steering, braking, suspension and software calibration.

In Australia, Mazda announced the 6e lift‑back sedan, also produced by the Nanjing joint‑venture. The model has attracted 715 pre‑orders ahead of its July launch, with 54 % from new customers. The base GT is priced at AU$52,990, while the top‑of‑range Atenza variant costs AU$55,990. The 6e features a single‑motor rear‑wheel‑drive layout, 190 kW output and a 78 kWh LFP battery delivering a WLTP range of about 560 km. Mazda forecasts monthly sales of over 300 units, positioning the 6e as a strong contender against the Tesla Model 3, Kia EV4 and Hyundai Ioniq 6.
