Mazda Opens First Indonesian Assembly Plant and Begins CX-30 Production

Mazda Motor Corporation inaugurated its first local assembly plant in Citeureup, West Java, Indonesia at the end of July 2026. The facility, operated by PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) and its subsidiary PT Eurokars Produksi Pratama (EPP), will produce the Mazda CX-30 as its first locally assembled model, with production starting on 29 July 2026.

At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, Mazda also introduced three new models for the Indonesian market: the All‑New Mazda CX‑5 (third generation) priced from Rp 599 million, the locally assembled CX‑30 priced around Rp 585.5 million, and the Mazda 6e Fastback electric vehicle priced from Rp 850 million. Senior Executive Officer Toru Nakajima emphasized Indonesia’s strategic importance during the launch ceremony, while COO Ricky Thio explained the CX‑30 was chosen for local production because of its long product lifecycle and strong market demand.
