Mazda rolls out upgraded Flare Crossover and new Roadster PS model in Japan

Mazda announced a product‑improvement version of its lightweight crossover, the Flare Crossover, at dealerships across Japan on 25 June 2026. The update includes a refreshed exterior with new front‑grille designs, a new “Woodland Khaki Metallic” paint option, two‑tone roof styles and upgraded safety systems such as expanded collision‑damage‑mitigation brakes, front‑parking sensors, low‑speed‑brake‑assist, adaptive cruise control with stop‑and‑go, lane‑keep assist, blind‑spot monitoring and a 360° camera. Comfort features now include auto‑folding mirror doors, LED side turn‑lamps, electric parking brake with hold, and standard smartphone‑integration (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HDMI). Prices start at ¥1,614,400 and top out at ¥2,275,900.

The same day Mazda began accepting reservations for an upgraded Mazda Roadster‑type lineup, adding a special‑edition “PS” version for both the soft‑top Roadster and the retractable‑hard‑top Roadster RF. The PS model adds a new Zinc‑Green Metallic paint, glass rear‑window soft‑top, RAYS 16‑inch black‑finished alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, Bilstein dampers, enhanced suspension tuning, and additional sound‑tuning components to meet new external‑noise regulations. Interior updates include revised head‑rest geometry and touch‑panel operation for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Retail prices range from ¥2,959,000 to ¥4,697,000, with production slated for September‑October 2026.
