Mazda and Changan unveil CX-6e electric vehicle

Mazda is expanding its electric vehicle lineup through a strategic international collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer Changan. This partnership has resulted in the development of the Mazda CX-6e (also referred to as the EZ-60), a vehicle that combines Japanese design and styling with Chinese electric architecture and digital ecosystems.

The CX-6e is designed under the concept of ‘Soulful Futuristic Modern,’ blending Mazda’s traditional Kodo design philosophy with new proportions suitable for an EV. The vehicle features a premium interior, including high-end materials like Nappa leather and advanced technology such as a 26.45-inch 5K panoramic display and sophisticated audio systems.

Technical specifications for the electric version include a 190 kW rear-wheel-drive motor powered by a 77.94 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of up to 600 km under CLTC measurements. The model also supports 3C fast charging, capable of increasing battery levels from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes. An extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version utilizing a 1.5-liter gasoline engine as a generator is also part of the lineup.
