Mazda2 price cuts in Vietnam target A-segment market

In Vietnam, THACO Auto has introduced a significant incentive program for the Mazda2, offering a 100% registration fee subsidy. This move has brought the price of the standard AT version down to approximately 394 million VND.

This pricing strategy places the B-segment sedan in direct competition with A-segment vehicles like the Hyundai Grand i10 and Kia Morning. The price reduction is viewed as a calculated move to increase market share and apply pressure on competitors such as the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent. According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association, the Mazda2 sold 482 units in August, outperforming the Honda City and Hyundai Accent, though it still trails the Toyota Vios in total sales.
