Mazovian Museum hosts medieval history exhibition in Płock
The Mazovian Museum in Płock has launched a major exhibition dedicated to the medieval history of the Mazovia region. The event commemorates the 500th anniversary of Mazovia's incorporation into the Polish Crown.
The exhibition features various historical artifacts, including codices, royal insignia, and monuments that document the region's past. A central figure highlighted is Janusz I the Elder, a ruler noted by Jan Długosz as one of the region's wisest princes. During his reign, castles were constructed in Czersk, Liw, Ciechanów, and Warsaw.
The Mazovian Voivodeship Self-government has organized several initiatives, including cultural events and educational projects, to celebrate this historical milestone. The exhibition remains open to the public until December 10.
