Historical reenactments and commemorations in Poland

Overview

Poland continues to host various historical commemorations and reenactment events. In Niepołomice, the 20th anniversary of the ‘Pola Chwały’ festival featured over 60 reenactment groups showcasing eras from antiquity to the modern age through historical camps and parades.

Focus remains on the September 1939 campaign. In Walewice, ceremonies were held to honor the heroes of the Battle of the Bzura, including a field mass and wreath-laying at the monument to the 17th Wielkopolska Uhlan Regiment. Wyszogród is also preparing for a large-scale reconstruction on October 4, utilizing period-accurate vehicles, weaponry, and pyrotechnics to recreate the early weeks of World War II.

Other regional activities include a memorial march in Stryków, where participants walked an 8 km route to commemorate the 1863 January Uprising. Additionally, Tarnogród is set to open the new Park of the Victims of World War II, a project supported by European funds designed for both recreation and historical reflection.
