mBank Slovakia to introduce Blik mobile payment system

Slovak mBank announced that it will amend its general terms and conditions to add the Blik mobile‑payment option for online purchases. The change takes effect on 18 September 2026, although the service will not be immediately usable. Blik, a Polish‑origin solution that generates a six‑digit code in a banking app for web‑shop transactions, has been in preparation for mBank’s Slovak customers since August 2024. The rollout will later include recurring payments for subscriptions and bills, as well as peer‑to‑peer transfers across several European countries. By the end of 2026, the bank also plans to enable contactless payments and allow Slovak users to pay on Polish e‑shops and vice‑versa.
