MCA wins two seats, ends 13‑year absence from Negeri Sembilan assembly

The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) returned to the Negeri Sembilan state assembly after a 13‑year hiatus, winning two seats in the August 1, 2026 election. The party contested seven seats and secured victories in the mixed constituencies of Chennah and Repah, defeating long‑standing Democratic Action Party (DAP) incumbents Anthony Loke (also known as Loke Siew Fook) and S. Veerapan.

MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong hailed the results, noting that the wins are expected to bring the party back into the state executive council. The outcomes were attributed in part to the Barisan Negara (BN)–Perikatan Negara (PN) pact, which consolidated Malay votes and helped the MCA candidates edge out their DAP rivals. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) remains without representation in the assembly.
