McDonald’s replaces pumpkin spice latte with caramel apple flavor
McDonald’s has announced that the pumpkin spice latte will not be included in its fall menu this year, marking the first time in a decade the beverage has been absent from its seasonal lineup. The company is instead introducing Caramel Apple Pie as its sole fall coffee flavor.
Industry data from Datassential suggests a shift in consumer preferences toward apple-based flavors. According to the analytics firm, coffee establishments saw a 99% increase in sales of Apple Pie flavors and a 49% increase in Caramel Apple sales compared to the previous year, while pumpkin spice latte sales grew by only 37%.
Other emerging trends indicate a move toward more diverse and unconventional flavors. Pinterest reported significant increases in searches for banana latte syrup, blueberry coffee, and marshmallow cold foam, as beverage chains continue to expand their seasonal offerings.
