McLaren prepares further MCL40 upgrades for upcoming Formula 1 races

McLaren is continuing an ambitious development program for its MCL40 Formula 1 car following successful upgrades introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix. After an initial period of struggling to match the pace of competitors like Mercedes and Ferrari, the team has seen significant progress through targeted aerodynamic changes and a redesigned floor.

The team aims to introduce further improvements at upcoming races in Zandvoort and Baku. These technical evolutions are estimated to potentially provide a performance gain of between two and three tenths of a second.

Team leadership has emphasized that the season will be defined by the rate of car evolution. To support this, McLaren has managed its budget cap to ensure sufficient resources remain available for ongoing technical upgrades throughout the championship.
