Measles vaccination rolled out at four São Paulo commuter‑rail stations

From 13 July to 17 July 2024, four stations of São Paulo’s CPTM rail network will serve as temporary measles‑vaccination points. The sites are Comendador Ermelino, Itaim Paulista and São Miguel Paulista on Line 12‑Safira, and Guaianases on Line 11‑Coral. Vaccinations are offered free of charge between 09:00 and 16:00 on 13 (Monday), 15 (Wednesday) and 17 (Friday) July for people aged six months to 59 years, with only a photo ID required.

The initiative aims to increase immunisation coverage by reaching commuters who may find it difficult to visit health centres during regular hours. Health‑authority officials say locating vaccine posts in high‑traffic transport hubs is an effective strategy to boost uptake and prevent measles outbreaks.
