Meat industry workers in Argentina reach wage agreement
The Meat Industry and Derivatives Personnel Guild Federation, led by José Alberto Fantini, has formalized a wage agreement within the framework of Collective Labor Agreement No. 56/75. The agreement was reached alongside several business chambers, including the Unión de la Industria Cárnica (UNICA), the Chamber of Meat Industries of Entre Ríos (CICER), and the Association of Meat Slaughterhouses and Industrials (AFIC), among others.
The agreement establishes basic remuneration effective from July 1 through October 31, 2026. For the month of October 2026, the convention sets the attendance bonus (presentismo) at $123,266.98 per month. Hourly rates for plant operations and engineering departments have also been defined based on technical groupings and seniority, with initial rates for various roles ranging from $7,321.39 to $9,344.16.
Parties have agreed to meet again in October to evaluate the current salary situation following the publication of official inflation indices.
