Media readership trends show growth in Czech and Slovak digital news markets

Recent media readership data indicates varying trends across the Czech and Slovak news markets. In the Czech Republic, Deník remains the leading newspaper with over 2.1 million readers, maintaining its top position in 13 out of 14 regions. Deník.cz also saw significant digital growth, reporting approximately 4.4 million real users in July, a 12 percent increase compared to the previous year.

In Slovakia, the digital audience reached 3.11 million people in the first half of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 2.3 percent. Ringier Slovakia continues to lead the market, with Aktuality.sk identified as the most visited website. While Ringier Slovakia saw a 3.7 percent decrease in monthly real users, Mafra Slovakia experienced growth of 3 percent. Other notable shifts include a 52.8 percent increase in audience for the public broadcaster STVR.
