Mediaș to host Weinfest festival in September 2026

The Weinfest festival is returning to Mediaș, scheduled to take place from September 18 to 20, 2026, in Castle Square. Under the slogan ‘Over 800 years of history, innovation and taste’, the event is part of the ‘Mediaș – Nucleus of Transylvania’ tourism promotion strategy.

Now in its ninth year, the festival features wine tastings from various Romanian wineries, refined gastronomy, and live music performances by Ion Popa and Walter Ghicolescu. The event is organized through private funds and sponsorships by several associations, including the Association for the Reconstruction of the Old Wine Metropolis of Transylvania.

The festival has expanded its influence beyond a local level, establishing international partnerships such as with the Hermann Oberth Foundation in Germany.
