Medical College of Honduras reports progress on pending salary payments

The Medical College of Honduras (CMH) has reported progress regarding the payment of outstanding salaries and benefits for health professionals. CMH President Samuel Santos stated that while many files have been reviewed, some necessary documentation remains incomplete. The organization expects payments to begin next week once administrative procedures are finalized.

Despite this progress, the CMH warned of ongoing non-compliance and administrative difficulties. Specific concerns were raised regarding unpaid salaries at the Military Hospital and the National Emergency System 911, despite legal provisions supporting these payments. Additionally, the union is addressing outstanding obligations related to the Consumer Price Index (IPC) and the status of over 228 doctors who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic and are seeking permanent positions.
