NEET UG 2026: MCC opens Round 2 registration and CENTAC releases draft allotment

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened registration and choice filling for Round 2 of the NEET UG 2026 counselling, effective September 3, 2026. A dedicated portal and medical assessment schedule have been released specifically for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. PwD applicants must complete their medical assessments within the prescribed timeline to ensure details are generated on the MCC portal.

In Puducherry, the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) released its Round 1 Draft Allotment List for UG NEET-based courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Out of 903 available seats across MBBS, BDS, and BAMS courses, 882 candidates have been allotted seats. Four seats remain withheld pending a Writ Appeal before the Madras High Court. CENTAC noted that candidates who received seats in JIPMER under the Internal-Puducherry U.T. Domicile category but did not express willingness to participate in CENTAC counselling were removed from the list.

Due to the extended NEET UG counselling schedule, there are indications that the 2026-27 MBBS academic session may be deferred.
