Medical experts warn against excessive vitamin and supplement use
Medical experts are warning that the uncontrolled and excessive consumption of vitamins and dietary supplements, often used to achieve youthful skin, can lead to serious health complications.
During the 'A to Z Aesthetic Summit' in Antalya, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüray Hügül, a board member of the Cosmetology and Dermatology Academy Association, stated that overusing supplements can damage kidney and liver functions. She emphasized that individuals should not follow anecdotal advice or use products simply because they worked for others, noting that what is beneficial for one person may be harmful to another.
Dr. Hügül advised that skin health should be managed through a holistic approach involving balanced nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being, rather than relying solely on cosmetic products or supplements. She urged consumers to seek professional medical guidance and personalized assessments from dermatologists instead of using home-made mixtures or unregulated treatments.
