Medical experts warn of fatal mushroom poisoning risks

Medical professionals are issuing warnings regarding the dangers of mushroom poisoning during the current season. Dr. Tudor Ciuhodaru has noted an increase in patients arriving at emergency departments after consuming mushrooms gathered from forests or purchased from unauthorized street vendors.

Experts warn that toxic species can be easily mistaken for edible ones and that heat preparation does not eliminate all dangerous toxins. Consumption can lead to severe consequences, including liver failure and death, with children and individuals with pre-existing hepatic or renal conditions being particularly vulnerable.
