DASAC conducts medical outreach for people with disabilities in Higüey

The Dirección de Asistencia Social y Alimentación Comunitaria (DASAC) conducted a comprehensive medical and social outreach operation in Higüey, La Altagracia, specifically targeting people with disabilities and their families.

More than 600 individuals received services, including medical consultations across various specialties, dental care, blood pressure and glucose monitoring, vaccinations, and free medication. The initiative also provided mobility aids such as wheelchairs, canes, and crutches, as well as cleaning kits, food rations, and maternity baskets.

DASAC Director Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona stated that these nationwide efforts aim to provide concrete solutions to the most vulnerable sectors. Beyond immediate health services, the agency evaluates families for inclusion in the 'Programa Familia DASAC' to provide household appliances, essential goods, or home improvements.
