Medical students begin new academic cycles in Dominican Republic and Mexico
Medical faculties at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) have announced new developments for their medical student cohorts for the 2026-2027 academic cycle.
In the Dominican Republic, UASD has deployed 420 senior medical students to begin their professional internships. These students will rotate through various public and private hospitals across the country to apply their academic knowledge in clinical settings. Dean Ángel Nadal emphasized the importance of ethics, discipline, and human sensitivity during this practical training phase.
In Mexico, the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa welcomed 325 students in Mazatlán as part of a specific academic strategy to expand educational coverage. Vice-Rector Manuel Iván Tostado Ramírez encouraged the new group to maintain perseverance and discipline to successfully integrate into the medical profession and serve society.
