Medieval festivals enliven Plumlov Castle and Přerov town

Two medieval festivals are taking place in the Czech Republic this weekend. At Plumlov Castle on 1‑2 August, a swords weekend will feature a knightly tournament, historical dances, falconry displays and a puppet theatre for children. Visitors can also tour the castle, with special costumed tours every half hour.

In Přerov the "Ve jménu krále" festival marks the 770th anniversary of the city’s elevation to a royal town. The event offers a free morning market with crafts, jugglers and falconry, followed by a paid afternoon program in a medieval arena that includes jousting, sword‑play, a hunting display with raptors and an evening fire‑show. Admission is 200 CZK for adults and 100 CZK for children aged 3‑16.
