MedLife, the country’s largest private healthcare provider, has acquired a 75% stake in Qualipat, a specialist in pathology, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing. This move aims to strengthen MedLife’s diagnostic capabilities and support the development of personalized medicine.
In the financial sector, Banca Transilvania reported a net profit of 2.5 billion lei for the first half of 2026, a 26.8% increase compared to the previous year. The group’s total assets rose to 233.3 billion lei.
In biotechnology, GenePlanet has secured a strategic investment from Lauxera Capital Partners to accelerate its expansion into Western Europe and the United States, focusing on oncology and rare disease genetic testing.
