Meesho reports revenue growth and invests in lending subsidiary
E-commerce platform Meesho reported a 34 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue for the second quarter of FY27, reaching Rs 4,131.6 crore. The company’s net loss narrowed by 68 per cent to Rs 132 crore, down from Rs 412.5 crore in the previous year. Net merchandise value grew 23 per cent to Rs 12,911 crore.
Chief Financial Officer Dhiresh Bansal attributed margin improvements to logistics efficiencies, including improved delivery speeds and better address-accuracy tools. While the company saw gains in contribution margins, management cautioned that these may not serve as a baseline for the third quarter due to timing differences in costs and savings.
In a separate move, Meesho has invested approximately Rs 400 crore in its wholly-owned lending subsidiary, Meesho Payments Private Limited (MPPL). The investment was made through a rights issue of over 1.14 crore equity shares. The funds are intended to support MPPL’s business operations, scale up capabilities, and meet regulatory requirements as the subsidiary expands its offerings.
