Greece announces business aid extensions and agricultural investment updates

Several administrative and financial updates have been announced for businesses and agricultural producers in Greece.

In the Just Transition Areas (JTA), including Western Macedonia and parts of the Peloponnese (Tripoli, Megalopolis, Gortynia, and Oichalia), the deadline for submitting investment aid applications has been extended to November 16, 2026. This €140 million initiative supports SMEs and large enterprises in technological modernization and energy production. SMEs can receive up to 70% funding for projects between €300,000 and €12,000,000, while large enterprises can receive up to 50% for projects up to €40,000,000.

Regarding agriculture, the submission of payment and advance requests for investments in livestock bio-security and protection against natural disasters began on September 30, 2026, via the State Aid Information System (PSKE). These measures fall under the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027.

Additionally, e-EFKA has announced that refunds for overpaid contributions for self-employed individuals and farmers are expected to be credited to bank accounts by October 30, 2026, following automated processing and debt offsetting. Separately, a new debt settlement regulation allows for the repayment of old tax and social security debts in up to 120 monthly installments, with the application deadline extended to June 30, 2027.
