Megara police dismantle vehicle theft and dismantling ring
Police in Megara have dismantled a criminal organization involved in the systematic theft and dismantling of vehicles for spare parts. During an operation conducted on the morning of September 5, 2026, at an auto repair shop in Nea Peramos, authorities arrested two men aged 23 and 26.
The investigation revealed that the group had been active since at least July, specializing in the theft of vehicles which were then cut up and sold as parts to the public. The suspects face multiple charges, including participation in a criminal organization, aggravated vehicle theft, possession and distribution of criminal goods, forgery, and weapons law violations.
During the raid, officers seized three stolen vehicles, which are to be returned to their rightful owners. Other confiscated items included professional tools for cutting and dismantling vehicles, a collection of forged license plates, a stolen disabled parking permit, and a hunting shotgun.
