Megasztár talent show faces controversy over judging decisions

The Hungarian talent show Megasztár has faced significant controversy during its mid-season rounds due to several controversial judging decisions by mentor Erika Herceg.

In one instance, Dallos Bogi intervened to save a contestant whom Herceg had originally eliminated, arguing that the decision was unfair after the team's overall performance had been praised by other judges. This led to a heated debate regarding the show's rules and consistency.

In a separate incident, Herceg sparked outrage among both contestants and fellow judges by granting a second chance to Varga Irén, a contestant known from social media. The decision was met with disbelief from judge Marics Peti and prompted some contestants to threaten to leave the competition. Additionally, Herceg faced criticism for offering a non-contestant, Alexa Helfy, a path into the competition via her sister Roxy, though Herceg later took full responsibility for the situation in a video addressing online backlash.

Amidst these tensions, contestants Varga Irén and Lakatos Rubina also engaged in a heated verbal altercation during rehearsals.
