Megasztár talent show faces rising drama and contestant controversies

The Hungarian talent competition Megasztár has entered its mid-round stage on TV2, marked by significant interpersonal drama and controversial contestant performances. During the auditions, it was revealed that one contestant is the uncle of singer Milán Valkusz, though the two have reportedly not spoken for three years.

Recent episodes have seen heightened tension, including a verbal altercation where contestant József Olasz issued a physical threat toward a peer during rehearsals. Other notable incidents include a 17-year-old contestant, Imre Guba, apologizing for performing a song by László Csík as his own composition, and a heated argument between style consultants Varga Irén and Violetta Pikács.

While some viewers have criticized the show for leaning into 'trash culture' and dramatic outbursts, the program continues to feature diverse stories of resilience, such as the return of visually impaired singer Teca Krizbai to the stage after 15 years.
