Meggie Richard Confirmed PQ Candidate for Duplessis Riding

Elections Québec has officially confirmed Meggie Richard as the Parti Québécois candidate for the Duplessis electoral district in the upcoming Quebec provincial election on 5 October 2026. Richard, former prefect of the Minganie regional county municipality and president of the Assembly of MRCs of the Côte‑Nord, said she wants to bring the voice of the Côte‑Nord region to the provincial legislature.

The Duplessis contest will feature incumbent CAQ minister Kateri Champagne Jourdain seeking a second term, Conservative Party nominee Roberto Stéa, and Québec solidaire candidate Jani Bellefleur‑Kaltush. The Quebec Liberal Party has not yet announced a candidate for the riding.
