Mehir Vakfı dispatches wedding aid trucks from Konya to Syria

The Mehir Charity Foundation organized a ceremony in Konya, attended by the provincial mufti Prof. Dr. Ali Öge and foundation board chair Mustafa Özdemir, to send trucks carrying wedding supplies to Syria. The vehicles contain roughly 80‑90 million Turkish lira worth of items – about 70 different goods amounting to 30 000 pieces – intended for engaged couples in need.

The aid program, running since 1996, has previously reached 65 Turkish provinces and 28 foreign countries. Officials highlighted that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s declaration of the 2026‑2035 “Family and Population Decade” reinforces the foundation’s efforts to support family formation across the border.
