Meiji celebrates 100 years of Milk Chocolate with anniversary products

Meiji is launching a series of commemorative products to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Meiji Milk Chocolate, which marks its centenary on September 13. Starting September 8, the company will release various items, including special packaging for its standard milk chocolate line and a limited-edition reproduction version. This reproduction version uses a blend of cacao beans from Trinidad and Tobago and Sao Tome and Principe to recreate the original 1926 recipe using modern technology.

Additionally, Meiji is introducing ‘Meiji Chocolate Hug Milk,’ a product for children that utilizes the company’s milk powder technology to reduce sugar content by 50% while adding nutrients such as iron, zinc, and vitamin D. The company is also engaging in cross-industry collaborations, such as a partnership with Pronto Corporation, which will offer chocolate-based desserts like Sachertorte and canelés at its nationwide locations starting September 29.
