MeitY reports 34 lakh registrations on FutureSkills PRIME portal

The Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) reported that over 34 lakh candidates have registered on the FutureSkills PRIME portal. Of these, 13 lakh individuals have earned certifications. Data presented by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha indicates that 86 per cent of the candidates originate from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

FutureSkills PRIME is a digital skilling initiative developed by NASSCOM and MeitY to provide industry-aligned courses. More than 23 lakh people have received training through the program, with women accounting for 41 per cent of trainees. The initiative has also utilized bootcamps to train over 32,700 government officials and 2,367 trainers.

In the North Eastern and Himalayan regions, including Sikkim, over 33,000 candidates have been trained, with more than 16,000 earning certifications. Additionally, SSC-NASSCOM has established Memorandums of Understanding with 17 state governments and over 2,000 academic institutions to integrate these courses into academic curricula.
