Melancholia to release new EP ‘I Figli della Pioggia’ in October 2026

The Italian band Melancholia has announced the release of their new EP, ‘I Figli della Pioggia’, scheduled for October 23, 2026. Published by Pioggia Rossa Dischi / BOC Music Groupe, the project follows four years of musical experimentation and a radical restructuring of the band’s lineup.

The new formation includes Benedetta Alessi, Fabio Azzarelli, Filippo Petruccioli, and drummer/producer Andrea Assogna. This release marks a significant shift for the group, as they have chosen to write the entire work in Italian for the first time. The musical style is described as a blend of alternative rock, electronic, synth-pop, punk, drum and bass, and shoegaze.

The EP features the single ‘Pillola’, a track that balances melodic elements with distorted guitars and synths. The lyrical themes explore concepts of memory, disorientation, and emotional rebirth, centered around an imaginary character known as ‘the Bardo’.
