Melilla Fair 2026 preparations focus on massive LED entrance gate

Preparations are underway for the 2026 Melilla Fair, scheduled to run from August 29 to September 6. A central feature of the event is a massive decorative entrance gate being manufactured by PGS Iluminación in Puente Genil.

The structure, standing approximately 20 meters high and 34 meters wide, is composed of 25 independent modules and features roughly 200,000 LED points. The design draws inspiration from the Casa Tortosa, a landmark of local modernism originally renovated by architect Enrique Nieto.

As the event approaches, the entrance gate is reported to be complete and undergoing lighting tests. While the main structure and exterior lighting for food and craft stalls are largely in place, work continues on the interior lighting and the setup of fairground attractions and booths. The company Himosa is overseeing the final assembly and conceptual design of the installation.
