Regimiento de Concordia reinstalls Site of Memory signage

A new memorial sign has been reinstalled at the Regimiento de Concordia in Argentina, marking the location as a Site of Memory. The site was used as a clandestine detention center during the country's last civic-military dictatorship.

The original signage, placed in December 2021, was destroyed by a storm in 2023. A subsequent attempt to reposition it was also lost following a weather event in March 2024. Human rights organizations organized a collection to fund the replacement.

The reinstatement ceremony included graphic workshops, open radio broadcasts, and musical performances. The identification of these sites is protected under National Law No. 26,691, which aims to visibilize spaces used for illegal repression during the period of state terrorism.
