Santa Fe and Catalonia implement major education-related policies

In Argentina, the Government of Santa Fe has distributed August incentives through the ‘Asistencia Perfecta’ program. A total of 63,971 education workers from both public and private institutions received payments. Of these, 55,923 recorded no absences, while 8,048 had a single absence. The total investment for this month amounted to approximately 8.9 billion pesos. The program aims to reduce absenteeism by providing monthly and quarterly financial rewards to teachers, directors, and school staff based on their attendance records.

In Spain, the Generalitat de Catalunya has launched the ‘Pla Actualitza Clima’ to address changing weather conditions in schools. The initiative plans to climatize 2,530 public educational centers between the 2026-2027 and 2030-2031 school years. With an investment of up to 2.5 billion euros, the plan includes installing heating and cooling systems, improving ventilation, and incorporating renewable energy. This measure responds to the age of many facilities, as roughly 25% of the buildings date before 1960.
