Mendoza, Argentina to Host 2026 Provincial School Sports Program

The city of Mendoza will host the departmental stages and finals of the 2026 Provincial School Sports Program from August 31 to September 18. More than 60 schools will compete in futsal, basketball, volleyball and handball at three municipal venues, aiming to promote physical activity, teamwork and discipline among students.

In Porvenir, Chile, the Regional U‑17 School Volleyball Championship was held at the Gimnasio Padre Mario Zavattaro. Colegio Alemán of Punta Arenas won the girls’ title and qualified for the national tournament in Concepción, while Liceo Bicentenario Hernando de Magallanes of Porvenir captured the boys’ championship and will also represent the region at the national level. The event was organized by the National Institute of Sports and the municipality of Porvenir, highlighting the growth of school sport in the southernmost part of the continent.
