Regional school and youth sports and cultural programs continue across Argentina and Chile. More recently, delegations from Luján and Chascomús have also qualified for the final stage, which is scheduled to take place in Mar del Plata from October 19 to October 23. The Luján delegation includes over 250 representatives across 38 disciplines, including chess, athletics, and football. The Chascomús delegation will compete in categories such as table tennis, shooting, aquathlon, and both conventional and adapted football.

At the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026, Argentina has reached a total of 184 medals. This tally has been driven by dominant performances in field hockey, where both the men’s team, Los Leones, and the women’s team, Las Leonas, secured gold medals by defeating Chile. Other notable achievements include Juliette Duhaime’s gold medals in Stand Up Paddle, Matías Reynaga’s silver medals in track events, and various medals in cycling, climbing, and badminton. In Paraguay, Fiorella Gatti won bronze in individual squash.

Other regional activities include the Buenos Aires Marathon and the planned transition of the Maratón de Reyes to a private organization model.
