Mendoza delivers 19 new homes while La Rioja releases book on landmark housing program

Governor Alfredo Cornejo of Mendoza province handed over 19 two‑bedroom homes in the Alto Luján Norte neighborhood of Luján de Cuyo. The units, built through the provincial IPV Mi Casa programme, were funded with an investment of 1.635 billion Argentine pesos and were presented alongside municipal officials and IPV representatives. The delivery underscores the provincial government's effort to expand home ownership by offering a modest initial contribution and financing managed by the IPV.

At the 23rd La Rioja Provincial Book Fair, national deputy Gabriela Pedrali presented the book “De la idea a la gestión pública”, which documents the origin, implementation and impact of the Plan Angelelli housing policy launched in 2019. The program, created during the COVID‑19 pandemic, delivered 1,012 housing units together with infrastructure such as streets, water and sewage networks, lighting and green spaces, involving state firms like Edelar and Aguas Riojanas. The book highlights the programme’s study by CONICET and its role as a model of “economy of dignity”. Both events illustrate ongoing provincial initiatives to address housing shortages in Argentina.
