Menorca faces water shortages and extreme heat alerts

Menorca is facing significant environmental challenges as water reserves have dropped to 33% following an extremely warm and dry August. The island recorded a 62% precipitation deficit during the month, keeping the local water demand unit in a pre-alert scenario.

Additionally, AEMET has issued a yellow alert for the island for Sunday, September 6, due to extreme heat, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius.
