Menpora Cup 2026 bowling championship begins in Jakarta

The Menpora Cup 2026 national bowling championship has commenced at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta. The tournament, which runs until October 11, serves as a key metric for evaluating athlete development and training results within the national competition framework.

Suyadi Pawiro, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stated that the event aims to identify potential bowlers capable of representing Indonesia in international competitions. The championship is part of the Indonesian Bowling Association (PBI) DKI Jakarta calendar.

Hidayat Humaid, Chairman of KONI DKI Jakarta, noted that the tournament provides a vital opportunity for coaches to evaluate athletes, particularly those in regional training centers (Pelatda). This evaluation is considered a crucial step in preparing for the 2028 Pra-PON scheduled to take place in Jakarta.
