Mental health awareness initiatives held in Larissa and Katerini

In observance of World Mental Health Day, mental health organizations in Greece conducted various awareness activities and commemorative events.

In Larissa, the Thessaly Mental Health Care and Rehabilitation Company (TH.E.PSY.Y.P.A.) celebrated its 35th anniversary. During the event, Member of Parliament Evangelia Liakouli honored the organization's role in the deinstitutionalization reform and its contribution to social inclusion. She specifically recognized the work of founder Professor Dimitris Kandylis and the staff for creating a community that fosters autonomy and dignity for citizens with mental health challenges.

Simultaneously, in Katerini, the Mental Health and Social Rehabilitation Company and the Regional Mental Health Unit organized an awareness campaign. Professionals and service users distributed educational materials focused on managing workplace burnout, anxiety, and building psychological resilience. The initiative emphasized that mental health is an integral part of overall well-being and provided practical advice, such as breathing techniques, for daily stress management.
