Cuiabá announces R$ 11 million investment in health infrastructure

The City of Cuiabá has announced investments exceeding R$ 11 million to renovate and expand two major health facilities: the CAPS III Verdão and the Coxipó Medical Specialties Center (CEM). The CAPS III Verdão project, receiving approximately R$ 4 million, aims to modernize psychiatric and mental health services with a capacity for 2,400 monthly consultations. The CEM Coxipó will receive roughly R$ 7 million for its renovation and equipment acquisition.

In addition to infrastructure, the municipal health department reported that Cuiabá's Urgent Care Units (UPAs) handled over 65,000 clinical and dental consultations in August, averaging 2,121 patients daily. To address specialized care gaps, the city has also formalized a partnership with Hospital Otorrino under the ‘Fila Zero’ program to increase otorhinolaryngology services.

Furthermore, the Associação Matogrossense de Combate ao Câncer in Cuiabá will perform over 9,600 procedures for SUS patients through a federal program. In the region of Sorriso, health professionals have completed training under the national ‘Nós na Rede’ project to strengthen the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS).
