Menzies Aviation wins ground handling contract for major Portuguese airports

Menzies Aviation, through its subsidiary SPdH (Serviços Portugueses de Handling, S.A.), has won the public tender to provide ground handling services at Lisbon, Porto, and Faro airports. The National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) announced that the evaluation process confirmed SPdH possesses the necessary technical capacity to perform these services for third parties.

The decision follows the exclusion of the Spanish consortium Union South, which had previously submitted the highest-ranked proposal. ANAC maintained the exclusion of the Clece and South Europe Ground Services group, stating they failed to meet licensing requirements specified in the tender documents. The issuance of these licenses is intended to ensure service continuity, quality, and competitiveness for airline operators and airport users.
