Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov clash over RAF Georgia incident

UFC fighters Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov are engaged in a verbal dispute following a physical confrontation between Dvalishvili and a friend of Nurmagomedov at the RAF Georgia event in Tbilisi.

During the July 11 media session, Dvalishvili struck Ahmad, an associate of Nurmagomedov, after an exchange turned physical. Nurmagomedov criticized the incident, questioning Dvalishvili’s professionalism and composure, and suggesting that such actions are difficult to justify.

Dvalishvili defended his reaction, stating that he responded to disrespect and provocation. He noted that he eventually shook Ahmad’s hand to resolve the dispute, expressing concern that the altercation could have escalated further involving local supporters. Dvalishvili maintained that his actions were a reflection of his culture and personal boundaries regarding disrespect.
