Mercado Libre opens new distribution center in El Salto, Jalisco
Mercado Libre has inaugurated its second distribution center in El Salto, Jalisco. The 100,000-square-meter facility is designed to expand the company’s logistical capacity and is expected to generate approximately 900 jobs once it reaches full operational capacity.
The company announced an investment of 911 million pesos in Jalisco for its 2026 operations. This new site brings Mercado Libre’s total to five logistical locations in the state, including two distribution centers, two service centers, and one cross-dock facility. The network currently moves over one million packages per week in the region.
Governor Pablo Lemus emphasized that the state’s economic development strategy focuses on attracting technological investments to support efficient product distribution. The new center is capable of processing more than 3,600 shipments per hour, aiming to reduce delivery times for sellers in Jalisco and western Mexico.
