Mercado Libre opens new distribution center in Jalisco
Mercado Libre has inaugurated a new 100,000-square-meter distribution center (CEDIS) in El Salto, Jalisco. This facility marks the company’s second fulfillment center in the area and brings its total logistics sites in the state to five.
The project involves an investment of 911 million pesos in Jalisco. Once it reaches full operational capacity, the center is expected to create more than 900 direct jobs and is capable of processing over 3,600 shipments per hour. The expansion aims to strengthen logistics in the Western and Bajío regions of Mexico, reducing delivery times and improving connections between regional sellers and national buyers.
Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro noted that the investment signals global interest in the state’s economic development. The company’s ecosystem contributed more than 106.4 billion pesos to the Mexican economy in 2025, representing approximately 0.4% of the national GDP.
