Magazine Luiza partners with Mercado Livre to expand digital sales

Magazine Luiza has announced a strategic commercial partnership with Mercado Livre to integrate its product catalog into the e-commerce giant's marketplace. The agreement allows approximately 27,000 items from the Magalu group—including brands such as Magazine Luiza, KaBuM!, and Época Cosméticos—to be sold directly on the Mercado Livre platform.

Following the announcement, Magalu's shares rose by more than 16% on the São Paulo stock exchange, while competitor Casas Bahia saw a decline of over 21%. The partnership aims to leverage Mercado Livre's massive audience to accelerate Magalu's digital sales growth in categories such as electronics, furniture, games, and cosmetics.

Logistics for the operation will be handled by Magalog, Magalu's independent logistics arm. Future expansions may include using Magalu's physical stores as pickup and return points for Mercado Livre customers and utilizing Magalog for the delivery of heavy items like appliances.
