Mercadona announces new supermarket in Olhão for 2027

Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona has announced plans to open a new store in Olhão, Algarve, scheduled for 2027. This move is part of the company's ongoing expansion strategy in Portugal, where it currently operates over 75 stores and employs 7,500 people.

The retailer has already begun recruiting staff for the new location. Available positions include 40-hour, 20-hour, and 15-hour weekly shifts. Mercadona is offering permanent contracts from the first day, paid training, and benefits such as meal allowances, holiday pay, and performance bonuses. Depending on the shift and seniority, annual gross salaries are projected to range from approximately 5,734 euros to 20,915 euros, plus additional subsidies.
