BMW unveils Vision ALPINA concept with 700‑hp V8 at Villa d’Este

BMW introduced the Vision ALPINA concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. The grand‑tourer coupe is powered by a V8 delivering over 700 hp, features a 5.2‑metre long, low‑silhouette body, 22‑inch front and 23‑inch rear wheels, and a luxurious interior with hand‑stitched leather, metallic trim and a panoramic iDrive display. BMW positioned the model as a future stand‑alone brand that will sit between BMW and Rolls‑Royce, with production anticipated from 2027 after the full acquisition of the Alpina trademark in early 2026. The concept underscores Alpina’s heritage of combining high performance with long‑distance comfort, while deliberately opting for a high‑output internal‑combustion powertrain rather than an electric‑only solution. The unveiling also highlighted BMW’s broader design showcase at the event, which included the Vision K18 motorcycle concept, signalling the company’s commitment to advanced six‑cylinder engines across its product range. The Vision ALPINA signals a strategic shift for the BMW Group, expanding its premium portfolio and targeting the ultra‑luxury segment.
